Puff Pastry Banana S’Mores

These delicious Banana Puff Pastry  S’Mores are easy to make and a fun dessert for your guests at any summer BBQ party or bridal shower, etc. I made my own version of this dessert after looking at recipes on several sites. You may add things your guests or family like such as toasted coconut, peanut butter, etc to change these up. You can add the bananas to the puff pastry squares without carmelizing in butter and brown sugar for a less sweet version. You may sprinkle toasted peanuts on top instead of pecans. Add party ice cream sprinkles on top of whipped cream or ice cream scoop for a Bday celebration, Just have fun with it! Enjoy!

Here is what you will need to make 8 servings:

One box of Pepperidge Farms Puff Pastry dough, which is two sheets.

4 medium sized bananas, not green and not overly ripe.

1 cube butter, cold

3 Tablespoons light brown sugar

1/2 cup of chocolate bits or chips, semisweet, dark, milk chocolate or white chocolate

1/2 cup mini marshmallows

4 ounces of pecan chips

Caramel syrup for drizzle on top

3 Tablespoons powdered sugar to sprinkle on top

2 sheets parchment paper

Directions:

Let puff pastry dough thaw in fridge overnight in box.

Lay out one sheet of dough on cutting board and cut into 4 equal squares

In a frying pan, place 1/2 cube butter with 1 tablespoon brown sugar until butter melts.

Slice the bananas into 1/4 inch thick slices.

Add bananas to the fry pan and let butter get bubbly.

Turn heat to low and simmer until caramelized, being careful not to let the get mushy.

In a smaller fry pan, place 1/2 cube butter and 2 Tablespoons brown sugar. Melt and let get bubbly. Lower to simmer. Add pecan chips and stir. Keep stirring until pecan chips look caramelized. Turn heat off and set aside.

Place about 16 mini marshmallows in the center of each dough square.

Place a sprinkle of chocolate chips in the center of each dough square.

Place 4 to 5 caramelized banana slices on top of marshmallows and chocolate chips in the center of each dough square.

Pull one corner of dough diagonally across to the other corner and pinch edges together like a little pie pocket. It should look like a triangle.

Place filled dough triangles on parchment paper square on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes or until dough is lightly browned.

Remove puff pastry triangles from oven. Drizzle with caramel sauce, sprinkle with powdered sugar, top with caramelized pecans.

Serve warm with whipped cream on top or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

These reheat wonderfully, even in a microwave , which would be for 30 seconds for one serving.
