I put this red, white, and blue basket together to be able to hang my American filler decor in this summer and for the 4th of July!
You will need:
a white wire small basket in the kitchen section of Dollar Tree
a 2 pack of red, white, and blue bead necklaces ( Dollar Tree)
one bag of Red, white and blue stars, scatter styrofoam stars (Dollar Tree)
2 inch wide ribbon in a red, white blue theme. enough to go round your basket..maybe 20 inches?
1/2 inch red, white, blue theme ribbon. 30 inches total, cut into 6 pieces each 5 inches long.
flag tooth picks ( Hobby Lobby)- optional
white hemp cord, string or elastic string
glue sticks and glue gun
Steps:
1.Pop the clear plastic tube clasp off of the necklaces.Using the string or cord, tie the first beaded necklace to one side of the basket. Repeat on opposite side of basket.
2. Repeat on the two other sides of the baskets using a second necklace.
3.Glue your red, white and blue 2 inch ribbon around top of basket.Ripples are fine, it is to resemble a flying flag.Use glue gun.
4. Cut 6 pieces of your skinnier ribbon into about 5 inch long pieces.
5. Glue one large white star in center of side of basket onto wide ribbon on each side of basket,
6. glue one skinny strip of ribbon under white stars in center.
7. glue two more ribbons at angles under white star on each side of basket.
8. Glue a red large star to left side of white star on each side of the basket.
9. Glue a blue star on the right side of each white star on each side of the basket.
10. glue two flag toothpicks, each facing out, behind white tar on each side of basket.
11. Fill with your Americana decor!
